Barn. Slick coat

Dereck and Hunter put a slick coat of concrete around perimeter of barn floor because the layer we applied this weekend wasn't solid around the edge.

This was a great idea! This barrel weighed about 400 lbs when filled with water and covered twice as much territory in half the time as the tamp! It took some muscles to roll this beast-thank goodness my hubby has plenty of those too!

After hand tamping the first part of the floor, Dereck had the idea to use a old pickle barrel filled with water to press the soil and concrete mix. Great idea!
