2012 garden has begun...

Here's what has sprouted so far in greenhouse. Yellow squash, zucchini, and spinach. Next step: transplant into garden!

Additional garden plantings

Since it was chilly and rainy today and we couldn't work outside in the garden, I started some more seedlings in the greenhouse. Planted manzano tomatos, black beauty eggplant, jalapeno peppers, snow peas, asian tender greens, and swiss chard--all YUM!

Rainy day....

Kahlua has the right idea...this is all this rainy day Saturday is good for...

Pecan tree tags

Our free goat shelters

The white one is a cab top off a tractor trailer and the red ones are recycled fence panels free off Craigslist. Red ones are the best yet.

Free fruit trees from Pearl brewery

Picked these up last month.  Peach and Mexican plum. Should be transplanted soon.

New Pecan trees in bloom

Just planted these trees on the south and east side of the house.  CPS Energy has a rebate program for the planting of shade trees close to the house.  In a couple years they should help to naturally cool the house.
