We picked her up from in town...she is a stray. Can always use a few mousers! Problem being, I'm allergic. She climbed up there all by her self and started purring.

To Start...

After following a couple of blogs recently I've decided to start one myself. I'm not sure of how revealing it will be. In the interest of some level of privacy in this day and age. I'll start by sharing a little of our current state of living here on Iron Heart Farm.

We live on a little over 5 acres of land in Bexar county, outside of San Antonio. Our house is a modest 4 bedroom 3 bath pier and beam structure, original section built around 1970. Much of the original structure is still in use. So you can imagine the level of energy efficiency. We purchased the home in 2006 in order to make room for our expanding family. Prior to living here we lived in a 2 bedroom 1 bath house in San Antonio. We feel very blessed being able to live on such a great piece of land and look forward to all of the potential it holds. If I am capable of doing so, I'll bring you up to date on all it has provided and all that it will provide.

To tease you just a bit, I'll write about alternative energies, gardening, water harvesting, and how a suburbanite learns to live in the country.
